FAQs
Where on earth do you take my dog?
How many dogs do you walk at once?
For the group walks we take a slightly longer journey in the van to country parks a little out of the usual area, these include: Black Country Park, Stanmore Country Park and Horsenden Hill.
For 1-2-1 walks we tend to stay more local, either a park accessed by foot near your home, or a short drive, my favourite local park is Gladstone Park.
Why don't you do daycare?
I Choose to walk 4 per person with a maximum of 8 dogs on my group walks when I have someone with me, this allows me to keep a watchful eye over all the dogs, and make sure they don't get into too much mischief or roll in too much poop!
How legit are you?
Do you take XL Bullys
I will happily take on XL Bully dogs, provided you have them registered and with a valid exemption certificate. My insurance covers them still for solo walks. I also offer a 20% discount to my scent course for this breed,
Why can't my dog join groups?
If your dog is reactive, has poor recall, or is in season, they cannot join my groups. If we work on the first two points together I hope to be able to get your dog to a point where they can happily join my group walk of course only if you would like to! I am very happy to do 1-2-1 walks if that is hat you are looking for, however my availability for this is limited.
In my exoerience day care isn't always the most stimulating for your dog, it tends to involve on lead walks and not a lot of attention on your precious pup. As a trainer, I think busy and improperly supervised day care facilities often contribute to behaviour problems down the line, whereas group walks offering stimulation and exercise canbe more fulfilling and often cause less problems.
I'm fully legit, I have a CPDT (Council fro Professional Dog Trainers) qualification. I am a UK Sniffer dog certified instructor. I have an enhanced DBS check. Full public liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance and Business insurance which covers all aspects of me caring for your dog.
Whats your background?
I have a background in hospitality management which was mostly looking after people, just before the pandemin hit in 2020 I decided I wanted to change careers and do something that had better hours, more daylight and of course more dogs! Since then I have been on several Courses to gain qualifications in training and behaviour and I am currently studying for my Level 5 Diploma in Canine Behaviour.
Why does your training work?
I look at the whole dog! from genetic predisposition, breed specific behaviour and needs, medical backgrounds (via a vet of course) and look at a holistic way to alter the behaviour which is force free. I do not, and will not use any aversive training tools- if you want these and quick results I am not the trainer for you. How much effort you put in alongside how your dog responds will dictate the progression of your training plan.
What are scent classes?
Scent classes are designed to use your dogs olfactory system (their nose!) it has been proven that 10 minutes of scent work is the equivalent to one hours worth of exercise in terms of mental stimulation. It is a great tool for all dogs, all breeds and all ages! I'd particularly recommend this for any working breed dogs as often they require more than just walks to satisfy their needs
I try to price myself fairly among the local competitive market, I believe however you pay for what you get! I am not the cheapest by any means, but the extra details such as: GPS trackers, further travel to better parks, keeping group sizes small all do lead to higher cost. I am confident you will notice a huge difference between me and your average Joe dog walker!
